FARM MANAGER DAIRY TRUST TARANAKI Dairy Trust Taranaki is an organisation whose mission is to secure and enhance the profitability, sustainability and competitiveness of New Zealand dairy farming. An exciting opportunity is available for a passionate and enthusiastic Farm Manager to lead the Dairy Trust Taranaki Gibson Farm.The dairy operation, which is 108 effective ha, is located just minutes from Hawera. The farm is flat, low maintenance, has extensive races,operates a 40 bale rotary cowshed and runs 330 cows to be wintered. The Farm Manager will take responsibility for day-to-day farm management, overall staff management, animal welfare, repairs & maintenance and farm appearance You will be responsible for, but not limited to: Managing the day-to-day routine farm operations including milkings, calf rearing, moving stock, general farm maintenance etc Providing leadership, motivation and training to the team Managing and assisting with future farmlet and short-term trial work Complying with H&S legislation Maintaining and monitoring pasture and animal management Managing the day-to-day expenditure within cash flow and budgetary constraints Assisting with the planning and preparation of budgets and work activities Meeting all KPls set by the DTT Trustees You will be someone who has: 5+ years'experience in farm management Excellence in animal husbandry and stockmanship Experience managing staff in a dairy farm environment Strong knowledge of pasture management Experience with Microsoft Office and farm management software too .Outstanding organisational and planning skills A strong work ethic and is physically fit and healthy .
