EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST: HEALTH CARE ASSISTANT FOR POST-STROKE SURVIVOR Full-time role some weekend and evening work will be required. NB: We are open to the role being a job share, part-time between two employees We are looking for a caring, positive and motivated person/s in an assistant/rehabilitation role to care for a family member at home following a ruptured brain aneurysm/stroke. Duties will be varied but would include personal cares in a fully refurbished wheel-chair friendly bathroom, attending rehabilitation appointments and being actively involved in undertaking rehabilitation exercises provided by the rehabilitation team when required. You would also be required to drive a wheel-chair van daily and support the client with daily activities such as crafts, shopping and errands. The role would also involve supporting the client on excursions to medical appointments and stroke-support groups as well as lunch and evening meal preparation and housekeeping in the afternoon. The potential candidate must feel confident using both a manual wheelchair and a powered wheelchair and hold a current valid driver's licence to be able to drive the client in a wheelchair van. A strong and fit candidate who is physically able and has experience working with disability equipment is advantageous when working with the client.
