OMMERCE COMMISSION Te Komihona Touhokahoko Exceptional General Manager Opportunities The Commerce Commission is New Zealand's primary competition, consumer, and economic regulatory agency. Its vision is that New Zealanders are better off. New Zealanders are better off when markets work well, and consumers and businesses are confident market participants. It works towards this vision by safeguarding the integrity of competitive markets, as well as preventing and tackling consumer harm resulting from unlawful business practices and irresponsible lending. It also helps to ensure consumers are not disadvantaged by a lack of competition in industries that are essential to everyday life and the economy, such as telecommunications, electricity and gas networks, and airports. The Commission is going through an exciting period of growth, driven by increases in its functions, duties and powers, and supported by additional Government funding. As a result, four new roles have been created within the Commission's senior leadership team. These key strategic roles will work closely with the Board, Chief Executive and senior leaders, to ensure the Commission remains fit for the future' as it changes and grows.
