MARLBOROUGH DISTRICT COUNCIL ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENTIST - HYDROLOGY We have an exciting opportunity in our team for an Environmental Scientist Hydrology to lead in fulfilling Councils statutory obligations under the National Policy Statement Freshwater Management (NPSFM). The primary purpose of the role is that of principal lead for investigations, analysing, and reporting on surface water and climatic hydrological data for state of the environment, policy making and assisting in flood forecasting. This role will also invoíve providing specialist hydrological advice to Council, including supporting the setting and review of environmental river low flows, levels, and the identification of allocation limits under the NPSFM. About you Our ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate: Advanced knowledge of environmental data collection methods and technology. Expert knowledge in hydrological data analysis, reporting and dissemination. Well-developed skills for preparing and presenting at hearings. A good understanding of the Resource Management Act and NSFW requirements. Excellent report writing and verbal communication skills. You will also have a degree in natural or physical sciences, data science or engineering hydrology, preferably at post graduate level.
