Fellowship Awarded Leean Bedwell, Managing Director of Cleland Hancox Chartered Accountants Ltd has been awarded a Fellowship for outstanding contribution to the accountancy profession by CAANZ (Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand). Cleland Hancox are annual sponsors of the 0ak Lane Jazz Charity Day and active supporters of the Morrinsville Chamber of Commerce. Leean joined Cleland Hancox in 2000, becoming a Director and shareholder in 2008. Leean has served on the CAANZ branch committee and local leadership team, and is known for her commitment to community organizations throughout the Waikato, including chairing the True Colours Children's Health Trust and being treasurer for the Clarence Street Theatre Trust. CAANZ awards its Fellow status only to those who have demonstrated outstanding contribution to the accountancy profession. Leean Bedwell was conferred this honour late last year, for her service and participation, with distinction, to CAANZ and her services to the community. As Managing Director of Cleland Hancox Limited Chartered Accountants, with branches in Morrinsville and Hamilton, Leean is actively involved in a variety of Waikato business networks and organizations, and is known for her unstinting commitment to a range of community organizations and initiatives Ray Hancox describes Leean as being totally committed to the firm from the outset....she has assisted with the growth of the firm, practice management and development." Leean's main areas of professional interest include advising on business structures, accounting systems, strategic planning, governance and tax planning for a wide range of clients, with a particular interest in agriculture and health sectors. She is also secretary to some large charitable and Maori trusts. Leean is a willing and regular supporter of many local charity events, including encouraging her staff to join in such events as the annual Oak Lane Lodge Charity Jazz Day, Relay 4 Life, quizzes and other fundraisers for various charities, and their annual bake sale to raise funds for True Colours.
