On March 8 students celebrated Holi, the Hindu festival of colours. Varande Kai and colour runs were among the day-long celebrations on campus. This festival has been celebrated among students and staff in NZSE College since 2016, with the colour run y gaining popularity in 2021. especially In the c e colour run, students gather in the carpark wearing white shirts before tossing brightly coloured Holli powder on each other in a war to get their friends as colourful as possible OAKO Students volunteered to help at the AJ Serley Gally Reserve clearing fallen trees caused by Cyclone Gabrielle Europe. This Western Christian celebration occurs just before Lent, giving those who celebrate the time to celebrate vibrantly and indulge before giving up such luxuries for a period of time. A vibrant shared lunch was arranged on campus, and indeed the students feasted. Students have also been hard at work at NZSE'S SCAN TO APPLY qualifications and career pathways to give back to communities not just in Hamilton but across Aotearoa. As these ATC students head out to help their communities, one former student returns as a tutor James Minota was a student studying ATC's Military Prep courses before he joined the NZ army and served there for four years. During that time, he had also helped out ATC with physical training sessions when he could, and he judged two of the school's annual Terminator Challenges. This year Minota returned to teach the same courses he was trained under to help more students gain the skills and qualifications to start a career in the Armed Forces, with police and in security roles. Individual students compete for the best colour runs, presentations of food, Rangoli chalk drawings and more. Campuses also compete to see who held and documented the best celebrations. The Hamilton campus won the competition in 2022.
