Disability Liaision Officer Be part of progress PERMANENT PART-TIME Southern Institute of Technology Limited is seeking applications from suitably qualified people to undertake the above part-time role. The successful applicant will hold a graduate qualification in an appropriate disability related field, preferably a Bachelor of Occupational Therapy, who is able to work autonomously, has a good level of computer literacy and shows a strong commitment to working as part of a support multidisciplinary student services team. The successful applicant will have experience working with people who have impairments across the spectrum of physical, mental health and learning disability. Consideration would be given to a recent graduate. This is a part-time role which we envisage will be 25 - 30 hours per week worked over 5 days to ensure availability for our students. We are looking for a person who can demonstrate awareness and empathy to students who have disabilities and as such must have excellent interpersonal and communication (verbal and written) skills with ability to maintain relationships at all levels of the organisation, with external organisations, the consumers and family/Whanau, along with other attributes eg sound judgement, common sense, and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
