SPRINGBANK SCHOOL Capability, Character & Confidence Springbank School is looking forward to a great year of rich learning experiences for their students, after what was a unique 2020 school year. Whilst the 2020 nationwide lockdown was tricky to navigate for some schools, Springbank School took on the new challenge of distance learning with great confidence. Principal Mike Warren acknowledges his staff took on the new learning environment with confidence and dedication. "Our teachers were able to create learning packs and set up class timetables via Zoom within 48 hours of the lockdown announcement. The transition from our normal everyday classroom setting to one online was swift, seamless, and incredibly rewarding." Teachers and students are gearing up for a full and busy 2021 school calendar. Term One begins with the much-anticipated school camps within the first few weeks of February, as well as hosting their biennial school production later in the term. Springbank School is also celebrating a huge milestone this year. 2021 marks 25 years of offering high quality education to students from all over the Mid and Far North. What started as a one-classroom school with only 15 students in 1996, has grown to include approximately 300 children from Preschool right through to Year 13. The new 2021 school year will see the addition of an additional class in Junior School, an additional Year 9 class, and the introduction of two new subjects for the Senior School. Springbank teaches the Cambridge International Examinations (CIE) curriculum. The CIE curriculum has rigour, global portability, credibility, and is internationally benchmarked. It offers students challenge and provides exceptional preparation for life beyond school. Springbank staff are committed to providing their students with positive learning experiences, in which they can thrive as individuals. Teachers support students' wellbeing and continued growth in the school's three core values of capability, character, and confidence. Springbank is proud to offer an exceptional educational environment, in which students thrive and build capability, character, and confidence. Leadership is one of the most important components of Springbank's learning framework. From an early age all students are required to work in teams, developing their interpersonal skills in a variety of social environments. "At Springbank, we believe leadership starts with self-responsibility. From Day One, our students are encouraged to challenge, inspire, and support each other through all aspects of their school life," says Principal Mike Warren. "When you choose Springbank School, your child joins an enthusiastic community of students who set high personal goals and are proud of their achievements."
