Located in Masterton, Wairarapa, Solway College is one of New Zealand's most historic girls' boarding schools. Established in 1916 and, in the 1970s, one of the first girls' colleges to become integrated in New Zealand, we consistently provide a holistic education for young women in Years 7 to 13 (Forms 1 to 7). We offer a limited number of day girl places and a variety of boarding options.
Masterton is a short trip by car or train (approx 90 minutes) from Wellington, New Zealand's capital city. There is also a daily direct flight to and from Auckland.
Our class sizes are very small and our priority is to meet all individual students’ needs. We are renowned for our excellent academic results and have been the top Wairarapa achieving college in NCEA, 2012 and 2013. Not only are we a top academic college, we also won the Wairarapa Times Age College of the Year Sports Award in 2014.
We are committed to offering an excellent academic programme and excellent pastoral care. We are a small caring community basing our day to day life on Christian values. We also aim to offer extra-curricular opportunities to ensure that our students gain the most from their Solway experience.
