AWARUA TRUST Awarua Trust Trustee Vacancy The existing Trustees of the Awarua Trust are hereby calling expressions of interest for an unpaid Trustee position on the Board of Trustees of the Awarua Trust. The Awarua Trust is a charitable trust established in 2008 by Morrinsville local, Edna Money, who passed away in 2013. The Trust mainly receives its funding from a majority interest t holds in a limited partnership, known as Awarua Fam LP which owns a 600 cow dairy farm near Patetonga. The Trust supports the following purposes, which were near to Edna's heart:- Agricultural education-particularly for students from the Morrinsville district; Relief of poverty in the Pacific Islands -particularly for New Zealanders completing projects in the Pacific Islands or for Pacific Island students completing study in New Zealand; Morrinsville Community-particularly for historical, education and cultural organisations; and Christian Projects- Particularly Christian organisations within the Morrinsville community For more information on the Trust, please refer to our website www.awaruatrust.org.nz The ideal Trustee will: Be able to commit time to the Board of Trustees to assist with meeting the objectives of the Trust. This will include but is not limited to, Trustee meetings, authorising trust payments, referee checks for potential scholarship/grant recipients, attending functions on behalf of the Trust etc Be a community minded person, ideally living in the Morrinsville community Be able to make decisions in line with the Trust Deed Have previous experience on a Committee, Board of Trustees, Board of Directors or similar Please provide written expressions of interest by close of business on Wednesday, 3 October 2018.
