Nelson Provincial MUSEUM Trustee Tasman Bays Heritage Trust Governance of capital projects/and or fundraising skills Collaborative and engaging style that adds diversity The Nelson Provincial Museum - Pupuri Taonga o Te Tai Ao Tasman Bays Heritage Trust is a Charitable Trust established to administer the Nelson Provincial Museum Pupuri Taonga o Te Tai Ao as a regional heritage facility on behalf of the Tasman District Council and Nelson City Council. The Nelson Provincial Museum is the repository of material culture and a proponent of local, distinctive intangible culture. With a purpose: To care for, strengthen and make widely accessible, the taonga and heritage collections of Nelson Tasman; and to create unforgettable experiences that stimulate awareness, celebrate diversity, excite action and entertain. The Trust has recently purchased land as part of plans for a new multi-million dollar facility to house the region's collections. The next phase for the Trust is engagement with the community on the facility, fundraising and the upcoming significant capital works project with the build of the new facility. The Trust is seeking a new Trustee to join their Board following a recent retirement. The skills and experience that the Board are particularly looking for from a new Trustee, is a proven ability around governance of capital build projects and project management of large construction builds. The Board are also seeking fundraising skills to assist through the next phase. In additional to this skillset the new Trustee will bring sound commercial acumen, an ability to engage with stakeholders and a collaborative and engaging style that adds to the diversity of the Board. This is an outstanding opportunity to provide strategic guidance to a key regional heritage facility. Preference will be given to prospective Trustees who are based in the Nelson Tasman region.
