Mrs. Amy Hacker appointed Principal for Paeroa College Amy Hacker will begin her role as Principal for Paeroa College on 29 January, 2019. Mrs. Hacker begins the role with over 22 years in the education profession including leadership roles in both in the USA and in New Zealand providers. During this time, she maintained a joint appointment with the school district and the tertiary training Community College of Aurora. Most recently, Mrs Hacker has been Deputy Principal at Ötorohanga College where she was responsible for initiating a number of successful community Mrs. Hacker was born in San Francisco, California partnerships focussed on academic achievement. and obtained her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of California, Berkeley and her Master of Science degree from Oregon State University. Mrs. Hacker did not always want to be a teacher. She trained as a wildlife biologist and opportunity to explore the local area. She conducted endangered species research. After committed to meeting the academic needs of several years working as a university lecturer she young people and intends to continue her strong completed a graduate diploma in Education. She educational leadership by honouring the work had always dreamed of being a secondary school that has come before her and building on the teacher in order to enable her to contribute directly strengths of the College. She is excited to take to the lives and learning of young people Mrs. Hacker is excited about joining the local community and taking up her new role at Paeroa College. In her leisure time, she enjoys gardening running and cycling and is sure to find ample is up her position in the New Year and to and make a positive difference in the lives of each of our Mrs.Hacker and herfamily immigrated permanntly students and the greater community to the Waikato in 2002 in order for her husband to take up a position as Professor of Biology at the University of Waikato. The couple have two aduht children, Ky (son) and Robin (daughter) both of whom completed their schooling in Hamilton. Mrs. Hacker began her New Zealand education career in 2004 at Hamilton Boys' High and was appointed Head of Science at Waikato Diocesan School for Girls in 2006. She fulfilled numerous roles there including 4 years as Deputy Principal.
