The 13 Fish & Game Councils (the New Zealand Council and 12 Regional Councils) are autonomous bodies in separate public entities. The NZ Council has a leadership role in the the sports fish and game system to ensure that all parts of the system work collaboratively as a coherent whole while representing the interests of Fish and Game nationally. While genuinely open to your previous background, you must have a real connection with environmental challenges, recognising the positive part that Fish & Game NZ plays across those. Be assured, all your experience will be well utilised, including the following key aspects: Superior leadership to ensure the team is unified and has a clear vision Positively and effectively engaging with a particularly diverse array of "stakeholders," including governmental/political, and the outstanding communication skills required for that. Ongoing development and implementation of strategic initiatives. Proven capacity to work collaboratively with a diverse and committed Council Financial and operational competence as expected in a person assuming this level of responsibility. Evidence of these attributes is imperative given that, as expected in any senior leadership role, there are significant challenges. Developing strong links with the 12 Regional Councils is critical to gaining the successful outcomes associated with these challenges, for the good of both Fish and Game NZ, and those they represent, New Zealanders.
