General Manager, metlink o Metlink Substantial and influential customer-centric position Visionary and connected leadership in a continuous improvement, ever changing environment Superior communicator, advocate, and relationship manager Wonderful opportunity for an outstanding leader with proven experience to work with the executive and Chief Executive in promoting and implementing a strategic, cross-functional, systems wide approach that effectively delivers public transport services to meet the needs of the communities the Council serves. Metlink's role is to plan, develop, promote, and deliver public transport services and supporting infrastructure in the Wellington region. Improvements to the public transport system have been ongoing and sustained. Against a backdrop of significant transformational changes to the network, Metlink continues to implement and optimise performance and customer experience, through robust governance, better stakeholder engagement, and increased capability and capacity. As an experienced people leader and contributor to the Executive Team, you will take an organisational perspective and approach, collaborating internally and externally to further enhance the desired culture, making sound business decisions, and taking ownership of leading and managing people. Applicants will demonstrate: A reputation for visionary leadership, effectively managing change/transformation that enhances cohesive and impactful delivery on all fronts. Ability to further enhance, at strategic levels, the partnerships with the Bus, Rail and Ferry service delivery partners, driving strategy, planning and delivery across a complex commercial regime, underpinned by significant and sizable contracts. A continuous improvement mantra Understanding of the challenges working in a political environment, while showing an ability to develop positive working relationships at Council (Board) level, and delivering results within the political, legislative, and regulatory frameworks that apply to local government. A customer-centric view in meeting complex and changing stakeholder demands. You are a fully developed commercial leader who can optimise, and at times rationalise, to drive customer and shareholder value while meeting the organisations obligations and achieving financial sustainability through revenue protection and enhancement. Experience in media relations, confident being the public face/voice of the organisation.
