Christchurch Cathedral Columbarium To protect the Cathedral Columbarium during the Christ Church Cathedral Reinstatement Project, the Columbarium needs to be deconstructed, stored safely and re-built at a later date. The Cathedral Chapter wishes to advise families who have loved ones' ashes interred in the Columbarium, that the ashes will be respectfully removed with appropriate prayers and placed in secure storage at the Transitional Cathedral in September. Families will be welcome to visit the Transitional Cathedral, once the ashes have been moved.
