TIMAR U Final Proposal for Representation Arrangements for the 2019 Local Elections On 16 October 2018, the Timaru District Council considered the submissions received on its initial proposal regarding the representation arrangements for the Council and its constituent community boards to apply for the local elections to be held on 12 October 2019 The Council received 1 submission, which was in support of the proposal Having considered the submission, the Council resolved to adopt its initial proposal as the final proposal with no changes. In summary, this is: Timaru District Council Mayor elected at large Councillors - Nine (9) Councillors as follows: Geraldine Community Board Six (6) elected members from the Geraldine community as a whole and one (1) appointed member, (the appointed member being the Geraldine Ward Councillor Geraldine Ward (based on current Geraldine Ward Boundary)-One (1) Councillor Pleasant Point Temuka Ward (based on current Pleasant Point Temuka Ward Boundary) Two (2) Pleasant Point Community Board Five (5) elected members from the Pleasant community as a whole and two (2) appointed members (the appointed members being the Pleasant Point-Temuka Ward Councillors) Timaru Ward (based on current Timaru Ward Bounda (6) Councillors Temuka Community Board Five (5) elected members from the Temuka community a a whole and two (2) appointed members, (the appointed members being the Pleasant Point-Temuka Ward Councillors) The three wards reflect the following identified communities Timanu The Timaru Ward is the area delineated on so Pian No. 19947 deposited with Land Information New Zealand This is the same as the curent Timaru Ward. The three boards reflect the following identified communities of interest: Community Ara of Community Pleasant The Pleasant Point- Temuka Ward is the area Point delineated by LG-06-4-2013-W-2 deposited with Land Information New Zealand. This is the same as the current Plcasant Point Temuka Ward, Boards Geraldine Community, comprising the area of the Temuka The Geraldine Ward is the area delineated on SO Plan No. 19948 deposited with Land Information New Zealand This is the same as the curent Geraldine Ward Pleasant Point Pleasant Point Community, comprising the rea delineated by the former So Plan 19946 deposited with Land Information New Zealand The population that each member will represent is as follows: Ward Population Members Population per member Temuka Community, comprising the area delineated by the former SO Plan 19949 deposited h Land Information New Zealand.
