Hosting over 75,000 people each year for musical tuition, workshops and to enjoy concerts, including local and internationally renowned artists, NCMA attracts global engagement with our region. Following completion of a significant redevelopment, coinciding with a name change and fresh new brand, NCMA is entering an exciting era in its proud history. As the Centre for music in the Nelson-Tasman region, it is ready and fully equipped to deliver its vision to be New Zealand's most vibrant, innovative and accessible music community. Nelson City Council is a proud key funder of NCMA and is represented on the NCMA Board by two trustees. The Council is seeking applications to represent it on the NCMA Board as it embarks on the next phase of its journey. To be suitable for these roles you will have governance and/or senior management experience, sound commercial and financial acumen, and the ability to partner and develop strategic alignments. Also essential is a real passion for fund raising, the ability to help the Centre grow revenue, and an appreciation for music and the performing arts. This is an exceptional opportunity to assist with leading and positioning this icon for the future. Preference will be given to prospective Trustees who are based in or have strong ties to the Nelson Tasman region. Applications close 3pm Friday 14 February 2020.
