helloworld TRAVEL THE TRAVEL PROFESSIONALS Bridget has recently retumed from the US where she did a 10 day self drive from Los Angeles to San Francisco. Below is a snap shot of their trip written by her daughter Alyssa Sherry Middlemiss. After a long flight, my family and I had reached our first destination of Los Angeles. For the first part of our trip, we spent our days strolling through the "Happiest place on earth" Disneyland is indescribable. Every detail is perfect and the rides kept us entertained for hours on end. Galaxy Edge which is very new was amazing and a must see if you are a Star Wars fanatic. The night shows took control of the sky and left us mesmerised and wishing we could watch it over again. After 2 days in Anaheim we rented a car and drove to Las Vegas! The 43 degree heat couldn't keep us inside we wandered through the people filled streets and got a taste of what the Vegas life is really like. As it became darker we watched the city transform like nothing we had seen before, as the city lights came on, the people dressed to impress came out and the casinos began to flow with people, you didn't know where to look. The next day we caught a helicopter to the Grand Canyon! Following a half hour ride, we landed in the canyon and enjoyed a champagne lunch while admiring the breath taking views. Day three was filled with spots of shopping, taking in the sun by the pool and finished with a truly perfect show. The Beatles LOVE Cirque Du Soleil show was a performance not to be missed, not letting go of our attention from start to finish even my Dad couldn't stop talking about it! Las Vegas has something for everyone Following a very long drive, we arrived at Pines Resort, Bass Lake. Coming back to nature after an extremely busy week seemed to be exactly what we needed. After a restful sleep we rented a boat and spent a few hours working on our tan and exploring the lake and its beautiful surroundings. The aftemoon saw us searching for Yogi bear and chasing waterfalls through Yosemite National Park, a truly beautiful part of the country and a place l'd like to go back to and explore some more. Our fourth and final stop left us at the city of San Francisco. First up we visited Alcatraz, there is so much history which is all very sad but a great story to be told and we all really enjoyed it, we rode the Hop on Hop off double decker bus & spent the evening wandering through Fishermans Wharf which was buzzing with people, buskers & Street performers which kept us entertained for a few hours. The next morning we caught the cable car from Union Square to Fisherman's Wharf and then rented bikes for the day. My highlight, was biking over the Golden Gate Bridge and lunch at gorgeous seaside town of Sausalito. San Fra sco has great shopping, restaurants and amazing history and we all wish we had more time there.
