It is the story of two bachelors, Jack Worthing and Algernon Moncrieff, who create alter egos to escape their tiresome lives. They attempt to win the hearts of two women who conveniently claim to only love men called Ernest. The director, Erin Howell, has chosen this play because of her love of the absurd. It will be a visual spectacle showing the beautiful period costumes of the aristocrats in London society in the late 19th century. Erin has recently directed two successful Shakespearean plays at Hutt Repertory: 'A Midsummer Night's Dream' and 'Antony and Cleopatra.' The cast will be known to many of the audience: Ben Rowan, Michael Farmer, Sarah Williams, Lindsey Rusling, Neil Rusling, Janet Van Polanen, Gina Foster, Emma Salzano and Michael McBryde.
