Funeral Homes 31 years old tomorrow Firstly, to give a quick history of the last 30 years here in Kapiti and secondly, as a practical guide to assist you in pre- planning for the future. We have simple planning guides, but for many who have been involved in the journey for part of the 30 years, this is a lovely 'special addition to the planning guide that for some will be an extra special way of recording your funeral wishes and having a permanent copy in your bookcase. t was 31 years ago today (Thursday 18th May) that I signed papers for the change of ownership for the then Collins Opie Funeral Home to take over the reigns 5 pm the following day. Collins Opie's business had been run via locums for some 18 months during his illness and had gone up for sale, and so it was on 19 May 1992 that Andrw & Merryn Malcolm took over the reigns changing the name to Kapiti Coast Funeral Home Last year, to commemorate 30 years in Kapiti, Andrew Malcolm put together a 35-page book in the form of a high quality magazine, free to anyone interested. This booklet is full of factual and helpful information and has a dual purpose. Towards the back of the book, there are pages to record your formal details and Funeral wishes, along with blank pages as an option to record either your own personal connection/s with the Funeral Home, or your community involvement and connections to the area for the years you have lived on the Kapiti Coast.
