I struck his rear door and hit the tarmac! He admitted he was at fault and said the immortal words "I didn't see you!" Our intersections can be dangerous. There are things we can do to make them safer. One of the most important things is to slow down at intersections particularly when you have to stop or give way to other traffic. Of course, it is not just cyclists who are crashing at intersections. Death and serious injury Crash Analysis System data over the past 10 years tells us that 73 of all 217 death and serious injury crashes were at intersections. Let's get that down to ZERO. New Zealand's road safety strategy requires all of us to play a part in keeping our people safe on the road. All of us. It might sound impossible, but Aotearoa has a plan to get there.
