A Charitable Trust and a Council Controlled Organisation they provide the people of Nelson and visitors to the region with access to our cultural heritage. The Bishop Suter Art Gallery Trust is seeking two new Trustees following the retirement of previous members. These are unique Board positions, requiring hands-on involvement in the direction and success of the Gallery. Both positions require governance, financial and commercial capabilities to complement the existing diverse skill set of the current Trust. One Trustee will be involved in the audit and risk committee, as such a commercial, accountancy or legal background combined with infrastructure/asset management experience is sought. The other position requires expertise in strategic marketing, fundraising and philanthropic activities, ideally with a network of connections. Key to success for both Trustees will be proven business management capabilities, strong financial skills and demonstrated ability to optimise performance and deliver tangible results. A grounded, collaborative, engaged approach and ability to communicate constructively and effectively with fellow trustees is essential. This is an excellent opportunity to be able to provide strategic guidance to key regional asset.
