Henderson Intermediate GOLD WINNERS ON THE NATIONAL STAGE! ...... Last week was an exciting week for Henderson Intermediate School, as they took out GOLD MEDALS in two of the events at the National Intermediate and Middle School Games held in Tauranga. "The School entered our Year 8 Netball Team and also one student who was a top squash player. Maia Smales was not only in the winning Netball Team but also took out Gold in Squash. In the Netball there were 124 teams, representing teams from all over the country. In squash there were 32 competitors." Proud Principal, Wendy Esera said. ORISH GROW AND The Netball Team has been together for two years under Coach Jackie Rogers. Jackie is passionate about netball and that passion certainly rubbed off on every girl in the winning team "The humility shown by our girls at the end of the game was something that was commented on by opposition teams and spectators. The girls did a great cheer for their opposition, shook their hands and warmly thanked them for the game. There is no doubt that people who watched our team play went away with a great impression not only of the skills that our girls showed, but of our School Principal of Whakatane Intermediate Michael Webster who was watching his team play against our team in the final, described our girls as displaying great sportsmanship and respect." Coach Jackie Rogers said Sports Director Kieran Paterson, was delighted with the results that the School gained. He found the whole week at the Tournament a wonderful time enjoying seeing HIS students shine! Henderson Intermediate GOLD WINNERS ON THE NATIONAL STAGE! ......
