SOUTHLAND DISTRICT COUNCIL Public Notice STOPPING OF LEGAL ROAD, MAIN ROAD, STEWART ISLAND Pursuant to Section 342 of the Local Government Act 1974 and the Tenth Schedule thereof, public notice is given of Southland District Council's intention to stop that part of an unformed legal road adjacent to the property at 2-4 Main Road, Stewart Island containing 0.0276 ha more or less and being Section 1 SO Plan 563009 ("Section 1"). Explanation Section 1 is unformed and not used currently for road or other public access and is not required by the Southland District Council for these purposes in the future. Section 1 is thus currently considered surplus to the Southland District Council's legal and physical roading requirements. The buildings on 2-4 Main Road have historical encroachments onto Section 1, which the proposal would remedy and it includes the area between the encroachments. Purpose Section 1 is proposed to be sold to the owner of the adjoining property and amalgamated with the title to 2-4 Main Road, Stewart Island. This will allow the buildings at 2-4 Main Street to be wholly contained within the property boundaries. Section 1 will be zoned Oban Rakiura Urban under the Southland District Council's district plan and its use will be in accordance with the terms and provisions of that zone.
