SOUTHLAND DISTRICT COUNCIL TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE - George Street, Otautau Pursuant to the Transport (Vehicular Traffic Road Closure) Regulations 1965, notice is given that Council will close George Street, Otautau from Main Street to Elles Road to normal traffic between the hours 6.30am and 6.00pm on Saturday 17 September and 6.30am and 6.00pm on Thursday 29 September 2022. If works are completed before 6.00pm, the closure will be removed. Pedestrians are asked to use an alternative crossing point as that is getting dugout and new asphalt laid as well. s The purpose of the closure is to enable upgrading of rail crossing. A detour will be available via George St, Macandrew St, Grey St, Elles Road to Main Street with an alternative route being Liemen St, Mary St, Harbison St to Main St. It will be an offence for vehicles to use the road during the period of closure without the prior written approval of the Group Manager Infrastructure & Environmental Services.
