What is a community-based assessment centre? Planned care, includingelective surgery and radiology, will be provided in order of clinical priority. Some non-urgent services or treatment may be deforred during Acommunity-based assessment centre (CBAC) is where you can get screened, assessed and tested for COVID-19. Alert Level 2. Some outpatient appointments will continue to be offered by phone All CBAC services are free of charge. or video consultation When should i contact a CBAC or GP? GP appointments wil be provided online or by phone unless youneed to see a doctor or nurse face-to-face. GPs and nurses will continue to provide urgent care, care for long-termconditions and routine care such as screening antenatal and newborn care, mental health consults, prescriptions and treatment of common lnesses. You will be referred to specialists if needed Youshould contact a CBACor your GPif youdevelop COVID-19 symptoms. These are: Afever (of 38°Cormore) Asore throat Acough Atemporary loss of sense of smell Shortness of breath Sneezing and arunny or trouble breathing or drippingnose Community midwives will continue face-to-face, phone or video appointments. It's especially important to contact a CBACIf you live in the same house with a large family, or ifyou live inacommunal environment (such as ahostel or apartment biock). Community oral health clinics will open again for routine dental care, and emergency dental services remain available. If you are immunocompromised (eg an oncology or diabetes patient), please go to a hospital emergency department instead of a CBAC for assessment. Cancer screening programmes are gradually returning to normal. People who missed their breast or cervical screening appointments during Alert Level 3or4 will be contacted to make new appointments. Bowel screening is resuming in a phased manner.
