Nelson Marlborough Health COVID-19nformation Blenheim Community Based Assessment Centre Health & disability services during Alert Level 2 What is a community-based assessment centre? During Alert Level 2 health and disability services will operate as normaly as possible, with infection prevention measures still firmly in place. Acommunity-based assessment centre (CBAC) is where you can get screened, assessed and tested for COVID-19. Planned care, including elective surgery and radiology, will be provided in order of clinical priority. Some non-urgent services or treatment may be deforred during All CBAC services are free of charge. You should contact a CBAC or your GPif you develop COVID-19 symptoms. These are Alert Level 2. Some outpatient appointments will continue to be offered by phone Afever (high temperature of 38°C or more) Acough Shortness of breathor trouble breathing or video consultation. GP appointments wil be provided online or by phone unless you need to see a doctor or nurse face-to-face. GPs andnurses will continue to provide urgent care, care for long-termconditions and routine care such as screening, antenatal and newborn care, mental health consults, prescriptions and treatment of common Asore throat Sneezing and a runny or dripping nose Atemporary loss of sense of smell ilnesses. You willbereferred to specialists if needed. The Blenheim CBAC will be closed over the Queen's Birthday weekend from 30 May to1 June. Ifit's urgent you can be assessed and tested at the Urgent Care Centre (next to the ED at Wairau Hospital). You can also phone Oe00 358 5453 for free medical advice. CBACS will be open againon Tuesday 2 June. Community midwives will continue face-to-face, phone or video appointments. Community oral health clinics will open again for routine dental care, and emergency dental services remainavaitable. Cancer screening programmes are gradually returningto normal. People who missed their breast or cervical screening appointments during Alert Level 3 or 4 wil oded trt be contacted to make new appointments. Bowel screening is resuming in a phased manner.
