PUBLIC NOTICE APPLICATIONS FOR RATES REMISSION FOR CONSERVATION PURPOSES Kpiti Coast District Council is calling for applications for rates remission under a policy aimed at encouraging the protection, maintenance and enhancement of the district's cultural and natural heritage. Ratepayers who own land with cultural or natural heritage features which are voluntarily protected, for example by QE II Open Space Covenant, or are listed in the Heritage Register as ecological sites may qualify for rates remission under the policy. You can pick up application forms and the policy from Council offices or visit www.kapiticoast.govt.nz. Ratepayers will need to meet the application criteria and include evidence of the protected status of the land. Where remission of rates is granted, the landowner, in conjunction with Council, will be required to develop and implement a Heritage Management Plan. Ratepayers already receiving rates remission under this policy need not reapply, as their properties will be automatically considered for remission by Council. The closing date for applications is 14 November 2020.
