Southland Newcomer Leadership Scholarship available Invercargill City Council, Southland District Council and Gore District Council have identified an opportunity for newcomers to hold leadership positions within Southland's business, community and not-for-profit sectors. Applicants are encouraged to apply for a Southland Newcomer Leadership Scholarship to access funding to participate in the Southland Chamber of Commerce's Leadership Academy. Open to ethnic newcomers" living within the Southland region, including working migrants, former refugees and international students, the scholarship will cover the $1500 course fee. The academy provides future leaders with the opportunity to build their capabilities through personal development and learning from mentors. At the completion of the programme successful applicants will have the skills, connections and confidence to be leaders in their community.
