SOUTHLAND DISTRICT COUNCIL DUST SUPPRESSION SUBSIDY 2021/2022 EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST Southland District Council, along with Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency, is offering to subsidise a semi-permanent 150-metre Otta seal treatment, which will help to suppress dust caused by traffic on gravel roads. The cost for successful applicants is $8,000 plus GST, payable in full within 10 working days of signing the contract. SDC will maintain the Otta seal treatment for a guaranteed period of five years. At its discretion, SDC may continue to maintain the Otta seal for more than five years, if it is economical to do so. If registrations of interest exceed the budget available, a prioritisation process will be used to ensure the highest priority sites are given first opportunity for the subsidy. It is hoped to have a finalised works programme committed before Christmas, with applications of the Otta seal treatment beginning early in 2022.
