SOUTHLAND DISTRICT COUNCIL Notice of intention to fill vacancy by appointment When nominations closed on Wednesday 7 July 2021 for one vacancy for the Oraka Aparima Community Board By-Election, no valid nominations were received. Under section 118(1) of the Local Electoral Act 2001, notice is given that at a meeting on Wednesday 11 August 2021, the Oraka Aparima Community Board made the following resolution: That BLAIR STEWART, being a suitably qualified person, be appointed to fill the vacancy, pursuant to section 117(3)(a) of the Local Electoral Act 2001. The criteria for appointment included the person being a qualified elector, representative of the Oraka Community Board area and active within the community. A meeting of the Oraka Aparima Community Board will be held at 5.30pm on Wednesday 22 September 2021 at the Southland District Council Riverton Office, 117 Palmerston Street, Riverton, to confirm the appointment.
